There are so many things that I don’t purposely plan on doing but it always seems like I end up doing them anyway.
Like…
Today I'm remembering Kellan's birth...I still remember that day so well.
He's a year old today! He's walking everywhere now and he's beginning to look less like a baby and more like a toddler everyday...sigh...why must they grow up so fast?
Most people will say that I hardly ever wear a skirt let alone a dress…but what they don’t know is that I absolutely adore dresses and skirts…I’m just really picky ;)
A few weeks ago I found the perfect dress…April and I are going to have a Sisterchick adventure in November (we’re driving over three hours away to a friend’s wedding, just us girls ;) and I’ve had my eye on a dress that's exactly what I’ve always wanted. Well, last week I bought it and got $50 off I might add :) Even though Dan loves it and say’s it looks great, I still want to lose this weight. So, I’ve been walking again…fourteen miles a week for three weeks now. After Duncan was born I walked fifteen miles a week and lost about thirty pounds…my goal now is twenty but I certainly wouldn’t fuss if I lost more than that ;)
As Doris Day say’s, “Isn’t it marvelous what a new dress will do?”
Kellan is now 11 months and I can’t believe that it’s really time to start planning his first birthday party! He’s been taking one step here and there but last night decided to walk whenever possible and took fifteen steps!!! He’s so proud of himself and will stop and clap along the way ;) He’s talking a little bit…not like Duncan did but I guess we don’t ever have a lack of noise at home so maybe he’s just going to be our quiet one ;)
Right now he’s saying,
“Mom ma”
“Da da”
“Dat” (that)
“Dis” (this)
“Na” (No…big surprise ;)
“ah ma” (Amen)
“uh” (as in uh oh…we just don’t have the oh part down yet :)
He started clapping a few weeks ago and I completely melt every time I see those little hands pat’pat together :) Everyday I’m so thankful that God gave us one more surprise!
We started homeschooling Emma this month and I have to say that I’ve been a little freaked out that somehow I was going to mess her up and then she’d be behind. Thank God that I’m surrounded by amazing homeschool Moms who have given me the encouragement that I desperately needed. The other day I sat down with Emma and let her write out all the letters in the alphabet…without help and I was shocked that she was able to write almost every letter perfectly! How’s that for encouragement! ;) I’m not really putting her on a schedule right now but we are taking little steps towards learning and she LOVES it!
